BAREILLY: Even as the number of swine flu cases reached 45 in the district this year, officials said that as the
temperature has started rising, the spread of the virus will be controlled.
Meanwhile, the report of six more samples of suspected cases, including a PPS officer, will arrive by Saturday.
Chief medical officer Dr Vineet Shukla said, “In 2019, as many as 45 people have been tested positive till date.
Of these, five cases were reported in January, 35 cases in February and five cases in March. Of the 141 samples which were sent to the laboratory in Lucknow for testing, 45 were diagnosed with H1N1. However, with the temperature rising, the number of cases will decrease.”
A swine flu death was reported in December 2018, while 54 positive cases, including three deaths, came to the light in 2017.
In 2016, of the 10 positive cases, three had died due to H1N1 while in 2015, 57 positive cases, including six deaths, were reported.
