Flu outbreak closes three Caddo schools

Three Caddo Parish schools will be closed on Tuesday, according to a news release from Director of Communications and Strategic Initiatives Mary Nash-Wood.

Due to a large number of student absences being attributed to the flu and flu-like symptoms, Arthur Circle Elementary, Northside Elementary and Cherokee Park Elementary will be closed Tuesday. The campuses are scheduled to reopen Wednesday. 

The custodial team will spend the day doing extensive hospital-grade sanitation efforts to combat the spread of germs. Families should not allow students to return to school until they have been fever free for at minimum 24 hours. Parents are encouraged to take the opportunity to clean all students’ personal items such as backpacks, jackets and lunchboxes.
