Wisconsin Flu Numbers Still on the Rise

We’re heading into spring, but flu numbers are still on the rise in Wisconsin and around the country. During the flu season, Door County Medical Center imposes hospital-visit guidelines to keep patients and visitors safe. Please do not visit the hospital if you have a cold or any flu-like symptoms. The center also discourages visitors younger than 18 and recommends that only two people should visit a patient at a time. Visitors should use soap and hand sanitizers when entering and leaving a patient’s room. “Our number-one priority is to keep our patients safe and healthy,” said Leanne Pinkert, Door County Medical Center infection preventionist. “The flu can be especially dangerous to people recovering from surgery or illness. Thank you for your conscious cooperation in caring for your loved ones.” Contact your primary-care provider to learn more about flu prevention.
