LARKSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WOLF) -- The SPCA of Luzerne County is warning people about the dangers of rabies after an infected cat had to be put down.

That cat -- a brown, black, and white tabby -- was found on Mountain Road in Larksville.

Rabies can be deadly to humans if they're bitten by an infected animal.

So experts are warning people of the signs to look out for.

"There's two types of rabies that's out there. There's the aggressive form and then there's the dumb form. The aggressive form will come right out and attack you, the dumb form runs in circles, falls over, can drool, act dumb basically. But don't approach the animal, you know, call the proper authority and we can address it properly," humane officer Vicki Vangorder said.

The SPCA of Luzerne County is hosting a rabies clinic at the Pet Expo in Kingston on March 30.
