WILSON J. HANSBURY

Wilson J. Hansbury

Wilson J. Hansbury, 77, of Little Buffalo Road, Newport, died Wednesday, March 6, 2019.

He was born Sept. 2, 1941, in Philadelphia to the late Joseph and Josephine (Brecht) Hansbury.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He spent time helping others and was involved in many community activities. He was a Boy Scout leader (Troop 92) for many years; a life member of the NRA and chairman of many committees with the Ickesburg Lions Club, of which he was a very active member; a graduate of Bensalem High School and attended Millersville University; and a member of Newport Lodge 358 F&AM.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years and the "love of his life," Beryl (Muir) Hansbury; three sons, Wilson C., wife Dee and children, Tessa and Lilly, Wade J., wife Bethany and children, Christopher "Tate," Alexandria, Ethan and David, and Erik, wife Stacy and children Madisyn and Ryleigh.

A service was held March 12 in Snyder's United Methodist Church, New Bloomfield, with pastor William E. Pipp officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Miller Twp.

PATRICIA C. FORTNEY

Patricia C. Fortney

Patricia C. Fortney, 88, died Monday, March 11, 2019, at her home in Buffalo Twp., Newport.

She was born March 7, 1931, in Akron, Ohio, to Joseph and Monah (Kincaid) Arbogast.

She had attended Liverpool United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Edgar E. Fortney; two daughters, Elizabeth A. Groff and husband William of Lancaster and Mary Lou Blair and husband Mark of Newport; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Baus, Billie Wright and Tommie Huggins.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, in Liverpool U.M.C., with a luncheon to follow.

JOYCE E. BRENNEMAN

Joyce E. Brenneman

Joyce E. Brenneman, 65, of Mechanicsburg died Thursday, March 7, 2019, at home.

She was born April 13, 1953, in Harrisburg to the late Leonard C. and Florence R. (Ebersole) Dress.

She retired from Cumberland Valley School District as a teacher's aide and formerly was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Workers' Compensation, Haubert Homes, Main Stationers and assisted in operations of the Brenneman family farm; active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, New Kingstown, involved with numerous activities and served on many committees; and enjoyed gardening, baking, playing the piano, being around horses and attending horse shows, an avid sports fan and especially liked watching high school games, loved going out to eat and treating her family on those occasions, enjoyed dining at Red Lobster and constantly searched for the perfect crabcake.

She was a great organizer, not only with household items, but with family. She shared information through her findings in genealogical research and very good at keeping extended family close and together through reunions or just by simply staying in touch. She had a special place in her heart for children and always cherished the moments she spent with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Lynn K. Brenneman, and a daughter, Jody Brenneman (Terry Sheaffer), all of Mechanicsburg; a son, Jason Brenneman (Coreen), and two grandchildren, Kendall and Ian Brenneman, all of New Bloomfield; three sisters, Sharon "Sherry" Cromleigh (Bob) of Duncannon, Cheryl Sellers (Nevin) of Shermans Dale, and Lori McClellan (John) of New Bloomfield; a brother, L. John Dress (Lorrie) of Shermans Dale; and many nieces and nephews.

A service was held March 13 in her church. Burial was in Longsdorf Cemetery.

CHARLES M. SOLT

Charles M. Solt

Charles M. Solt, 57, of Newport died Monday, March 11, 2019.

He was born Nov. 28, 1961, in Lewistown to the late Ray J. Solt and Arlene (Setzler) Black.

He had worked as a forklift operator for Exel and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Solt; a brother, Ray Solt and wife Marlyn of Mifflintown; two sisters, Pam Wetherell and husband Jim of Connecticut and Teresa Hess and husband Leonard of Port Royal; and several nieces and nephews.

BETTY R. CREE

Betty R. Cree

Betty R. Cree, 76, died at her home in Newport.

She was born Aug. 31, 1942, in Mannsville to the late Gerald and Edith (Horting) Roush.

She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service at Newport; and a member of Newport Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Mannsville Lutheran Church.

She was the widow of William E. Cree.

Surviving are three brothers, Ronald Roush of Port Royal, Gerald Roush of Arizona and Donald Roush of Carlisle.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Crawford.

A service was held March 12 in David Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with pastor Mary Kay Miller officiating. Burial was in Eshcol Cemetery, Millerstown.

HELEN M. HUTCHINSON

Helen M. Hutchison, 85, of Duncannon, formerly of New Bloomfield, died Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Stoneridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Duncannon.

She was born March 19, 1933, in Clearfield to Orin S. and Pearl M. (Demi) Sneddon.

She had been employed as a customer service supervisor with Target Sportswear for 25 years, prior to her retirement in 1998; a member of the former Roseglen Brethren in Christ Church, where she was very involved in volunteer activities, and more recently attended Dellville United Methodist Church; and a devoted NASCAR fan, who knew everything about her favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr., enjoyed keeping up with her friends and family through Facebook, and received the greatest joy from her grandchildren, whom she loved to spend time with and was actively involved in their lives by supporting their activities.

She was the widow of James F. Hutchison, who died Dec. 1, 2016.

Surviving are a son, James K. and his wife, Linda, of Duncannon; and three granddaughters, Jessica, Emily and Hannah Hutchison.

She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, James Sneddon, Mabel Swatsworth, Edith Swatsworth and Roy Sneddon.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 6, in Dellville United Methodist Church, 806 Dellville Road, Duncannon, with pastor David Keyworth officiating. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. on the day of the service.

Romaine E. Klinger

Romaine E. Klinger, 78, of Liverpool died Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Premier at Perry Village, New Bloomfield.

She was born March 19, 1940, in Liverpool Twp. to the late Harvey and Mary (Hoffman) Sweigart.

She retired in September 2017 as a cook for Liverpool American Legion; was a member of Liverpool American Legion Auxiliary; and enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.

She was the widow of Edward G. "Ed" Eddie" Klinger.

Survived are two daughters and their spouses, Connie and Timothy Goodling and Teresa and Bruce Walker; two grandchildren, Eric Dressler and his wife Angela, and Shane Dressler and his wife Bethany; two great-grandchildren, Alivia and Brinley Dressler; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Breanna and Connor Hickman; two brothers, Charles Sweigart and Robert Sweigart; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Beatrice Sweigart, Geraldine and Charles Matukaitis, Ruth and Charles "Ed" Miller, and Shirley and Dave Goodling; and many nieces and nephews.

A service was held March 16 in George P. Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool. Burial was in Barner's Cemetery, Liverpool.

SHIRLEY M. ASHENFELDER

Shirley M. Ashenfelder

Shirley Mae Ashenfelder, 89, of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Marysville, died Sunday, March 10, 2019, at West Shore UPMC Hospital.

She was the daughter of Nile Sr. and Alice (Zeigler) Reed, born May 21, 1929, in Fairview Twp.

She was retired from American Can Company; and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Marysville, ladies auxiliary of Marysville Fire Company, Golden Age Club and Senior Citizens of Marysville.

She was the widow of Marlin W. Ashenfelder.

Surviving are a sister, Genevieve "Jenny" Hamsher, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Baumgardner, Arlene Engle and Lois Knudsen; and two brothers, Merlin Reed Sr. and Nile Reed Jr.

A service was held March 15 in her church. Interment was in Perry Heights Cemetery, Marysville.
