All children in HCMC to be vaccinated against measles

As per Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee’s document sent to the municipal Department of Health, district authorities and relevant agencies on measles prevention task, hosptials will inject measles vaccine on all children.

According to the document, the Department of Health and local authorities should work together to check kids in the vaccination age to immunize all of them so that the rate of vaccinae coverage must be 95 percent in each district.
Additionally, the Department should increase supervision and monitor the development of the disease to early detect outbreaks in order to quarantine it and prevent it from spreading widely.
What is more, health sector should make a list of infants from nine month old to 18 month old to vaccinate all as well as isolate ill children in infirmaries.
Infirmaries should strictly work hard to ensure equipment safety and a clean environment to curb cross- infection amongst patients in medical facilities as well as intensive treatment of severe cases to minimise measles deaths.
The Department of Health was asked to coordinate with the Department of Education and Training to direct preschools and primiary to review children’s vaccination history and remind parents of taking their kids to hospitals for immunization agaisnt measles.
Ill children should take sick leave so as not to transmit the disease to others.
