Raccoon captured in Indiana Twp. tests positive for rabies

PITTSBURGH — The Allegheny County Health Department has confirmed yet another case of rabies in the area.
Last week, a raccoon was captured around the 200 block of Little Deer Creek Road in Indiana Township. This is the 17th reported case of rabies in Allegheny County in 2019. There have been five raccoons, one bat and one cat.
ACHD has confirmed that a raccoon brought to one of its facilities last week has tested positive for rabies. The raccoon was spotted near the 200 block of Little Deer Creek Road in Indiana Township. Always avoid wild & stray animals. Read more: https://t.co/XE6DmUGbAL

“County residents are always reminded to avoid wild and stray animals to avoid exposure to rabies,” says the Allegheny County Health Department. “Residents should also keep a close eye on there pets and make sure their pets are up-to-date with vaccinations.”
