City of Plattsburgh Public Works crews discuss repairs to a water main that broke on U.S. Avenue in the south end of the city, just south of the roundabout, on Tuesday afternoon. The 84-year-old cast-iron pipe sustained a split and several smaller cracks. A boil-water order was issued for 85 properties in the area, from the roundabout south to the city line, until further notice. The boil-water order will remain in effect until further notice, the city said in a press release.
