Businessman jumps to death from school building in Jaipur

JAIPUR: A 45-year-old businessman was killed after he jumped off the third floor of an under-construction school building in Vidyadhar Nagar.
Based on preliminary investigation, cops are treating death as a case of suicide. Akshat Jain, a resident of Ambabari area, was reportedly depressed because of a heart related ailment which could not be diagnosed. “We spoke to his family members and they said Akshat was plagued by depression and mental agony because of the unknown disease.
He had consulted over 15 doctors but they could not provide a conclusive report as to what ailed him,” said SHO Vidhyadhar Nagar, Radha Raman Gupta.
On Saturday morning, he returned home for a few minutes and told his family members that he was going out again for jogging. He left his mobile phone at the home and left, when he did not come late till afternoon, a worried family member informed the police and control room. “We searched the entire area when a worker of an under-construction school building told us that a body was seen in the morning. The body was identified as of Jain,” added Gupta.
Akshat Jain ran a plastic material manufacturing unit near Vishwa Karma Industrial (VKI) area. The police said that the matter is under investigation and a detailed post-mortem report is awaited.
“As of now it appears to be case of suicide based on the family’s statements, but our investigation has not ended,” Gupta said, adding that Jain’s body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem.
