PUYALLUP, Wash. -- A fresh new warning about possible measles exposure in the Puget Sound region has been given by local health officials.

A man in his 40s from Pierce County has tested positive for measles after visiting several public places across the South Sound earlier this month, including Sea-Tac Airport, Orting, Puyallup and Bonney Lake.

More specifically, those locations include: Orting High School, a Bonney Lake Discount Tire store, an archery in Puyallup and a walk-in clinic in Bonney Lake. You can find the full list of exposure locations and times at the Dept. of Health web page. The main time of exposure would be between May 6-11.

If you were at the locations at the times listed above and are not immune to measles, the most likely time you would become sick is between May 13-31.

Officials say this patient was not exposed to another measles case in King County, making this a separate incident. The health department is still looking into where this man's exposure originated.

"People who were at exposure locations at listed times should find out if they have been vaccinated for measles or have had measles previously, and contact a health care provider if they develop illness fever or unexplained rash," health officials said.
