Year 7 students at Marymount College in Burleigh Heads, on the Gold Coast, were reported to have had reactions to the immunisations administered on Monday.

A few were sent home sick after receiving the jabs, the Courier Mail reported.

Some affected students have not returned to school since and as a result have missed their NAPLAN tests today.

The school's principal, Chris Noonan has told Daily Mail Australia ten girls and two boys went to the sick bay with complaints of a 'sore arm' after they were injected.

Of those 12, only one student went home, and the rest returned to class.

He said two Year 7 students did not come into school today, but the parents did not express any concern over the vaccines.

'It's not unusual for children to feel sore or queasy after receiving a vaccination', Mr Noon said.

About 190 vaccines were administered to the class.
