PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — The city of Palm Beach Gardens Public Services Division will be conducting a city-wide mosquito spraying this week.

Spraying will occur throughout the city, weather permitting, from May 20-24, between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.

The city uses the chemical called Duet®, a dual-action adulticide, to combat night and daytime flying mosquitoes. The proven active ingredients being used are prallethrin and sumithrin.

The CDC reports it is safe to walk your pets and go outside when spraying happens.

The Florida Department of Health reported no human cases of West Nile in our five-county area last year or currently this year, and no locally transmitted cases of the Zika virus in the state.

Palm Beach County Mosquito Control says they are not getting much of an increase in mosquitoes, but have seen a slight increase in service calls so far.
