THE Federation of Abbey Schools in Darlington organised a charity football tournament with 23 teams from across the junior school who raised a total of £651.62 for “Meningitis Now”.
Earlier in the week all children attended education assemblies in both the Infant and Junior Schools where they watched a video about Meningitis and had their questions answered by a local GP. They all then took home a Symptoms Card.
The school has had a holistic approach to fund raising for the whole of the school year.
A Charity Committee including governors, staff, parents and pupils was formed at the end of the 2018 academic year. The children chose the charities to support and they have held events throughout the year.
The activities have raised £2,383.69 in total.
