Miami Trace Local School District closed Friday due to flu outbreak

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — The Miami Trace Local School District will be closed Friday, Jan. 17, due to a flu outbreak.

The school district said it is currently experiencing a high volume of influenza B cases throughout the district.

The district has been working with the Fayette County Health Department to monitor the situation and as a result, the district will be closed Friday.

As a precautionary measure, the entire district will be shut down until the start of school Tuesday. Closing schools Friday will allow four days for facilities and buses to be disinfected.

All district activities and contests are also canceled this weekend, including youth programs.
